HMFD Training House 3/22/05

Halfmoon Firefighters received a fantastic training opportunity in March. Most of the months of March and April were spent conducting fire training on a donated ranch house. Firefighters practiced SCBA skills (fire suppression and search & rescue), chimney fires, ventilation (vertical roof, horizontal window, positive pressure fan), and new Firefighter training. Training of this type is an exceptional opportunity for firefighters to train under real life conditions. While we did not use live fire in these exercises, we did use our smoke machine to create a simulated hazardous atmosphere.
