HMFD Extrication Training

On Tuesday, October 3rd the Halfmoon Fire Department (HMFD) participated in extrication training at HMFD Station #2. HMFD Firefighters spent the evening reviewing basic extrication principles and working on new advanced rescue techniques. The cars, donated by local residents, were cut-up, roofs removed, doors forced open, and seats pried. The training evolutions and techniques are designed to copy real life situations the may be encountered by Firefighters at the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Assisting with the extrication training was Churchville Fire Equipment representative Rusty Jordan with the latest rescue tools from Hurst/Centaur “Jaws of Life”.
