Halfmoon firefighters respond Mutual Aid to assist in battling two structure fires

On Friday August 24th at 1:47pm, Halfmoon firefighters were requested to stand by in quarters for the Northside Fire Department who was responding to a structure fire on Hill Street in the Town of Waterford. Shortly after being activated, there was a request that Halfmoon respond to the scene to assist in fire suppression. Halfmoon firefighters spent over 3 hours assisting in bringing the fire under control in the extreme temperatures.

On Saturday August 25th at 10:05 PM Hillcrest Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Timothy Way that was struck by lighting. Upon the arrival of Hillcrest firefighters, the fire was in the attic and through the roof of the residence. The day time mutual aid plan was activated that brought in departments from Halfmoon, West Crescent, Clifton Park, Mechanicville and a FAST Team from Jonesville. The fire was confined to the attic area of the structure.
