HMFD SCBA Training

On Tuesday, October 17th the Halfmoon Fire Department (HMFD) went to the Town of Colonie Fire Training Center for air pack mask confidence training. Firefighters using self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) reviewed techniques for search & rescue and self rescue. The mask confidence course (maze) is designed to simulate hazards that Firefighters might encounter while searching structures involved in fire. The maze simulates basements, confined spaces, stairs, wall spaces, attics, roof rafters, and entanglement hazards. HMFD Firefighters use this annual refresher training to test skills and build confidence.
