Grooms Road MVA

On Monday, June 5th the Halfmoon Fire Department (HMFD) was dispatched to an auto accident (MVA) on Grooms Road near the Maple Ridge development. Upon arrival Firefighters found that two cars had collided blocking most of the roadway and resulting in minor injuries. Firefighters assisted with medical care and removed leaking fluids and debris from the roadway. The injured were transported by Clifton-Park Halfmoon Ambulance to area hospitals for treatment.

The car that was involved in the accident was carrying concrete blocks in the trunk area, which in the force of the collision, suddenly moved forward through the rear seat up into the passenger area. The people in this car escaped with minor injuries, but it could have been much worse. Please use caution when transporting heavy, un-restrained, objects in your vehicle.
