HMFD AVET 2004

The Halfmoon – Waterford Fire Department recently hosted the NYS Accident Victim Extrication Course. This course provided hands-on training in motor vehicle rescue and extrication techniques while stressing the need for scene safety and vehicle stabilization. The course included rescue theory, rescue life cycle and new technology in automotive design, and rescue tools and their uses.

The following firefighters completed the training: Asst. Chief Chuck Kuhns, Firefighters John Napples, Chuck LaFountain, Jason Polnak, Kelly Dickinson, Keith Lamoutte, Roger Pelham, Kevin Douglas, Jim Dougall, Alana Hetrick and Dave Mills.

Mutual Aid departments also participating in the course were Hillcrest, Clifton Park, Waterford and Northside Fire Departments.
