Halfmoon-Waterford Fire District No. 1

The District is home to the C.S. Hawley Chemical Company, more commonly known as the Halfmoon Fire Department (HMFD).  We are a progressive, volunteer department that strives to deliver the highest level of response to the residents of our District and neighboring communities.

Our department is led by Chief Jeremy W. Connors, Deputy Chief Andrew F. Jensen, and Assistant Chief Brian P. Boudreau.  Each Chief has come to their positions with many years of service, extensive advanced training, and a variety of professional backgrounds.

As our community continues to grow, so does the scope and complexity of our mission.  At present, we respond to over 600 fire, rescue and emergency medical calls per year.  By utilizing rigorous training, proven tactics and appropriate technology, the HMFD provides professional and effective protection to more than 14 square miles and 15,000 residents.

In addition to helping your neighbors, being a volunteer firefighter is an extremely rewarding experience.  We are always looking for new members to help us serve our community.  If you ever wondered what it takes, or if you simply would like to know more about your fire department, stop by during our Tuesday night drill.  Or just contact us by email or phone.  We would be happy to meet with you, answer your questions and hopefully give you an application
