About Us

The Halfmoon - Waterford Fire Department proudly protects 14,000 people living in an area of 14 square miles. We Operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our members carry out our several hundred calls a year. We operate out of two fire stations, one on Middletown Road, and the other on Hudson River Road (4 & 32).

Our department is entirely volunteer. We do however, employ a paid station keeper to help us with the added maintenance of our two stations that has come with the increase in calls we have experienced over the past few years. His work helps us keep our equipment in top shape and allows us to do our job better, that is protecting you.

We currently have members ranging in age from seventeen years old on up. We are always looking for new members any age, sex, and race. We as a department and you as a public can benefit from your volunteerism. Join your neighbors in keeping your town safe.
